Most of our discipleship at First Assembly happens in life-giving small groups. Meeting once a week in people's homes or at the church, the small group experience provides some teaching, accountability, confession and fellowship. It is the Acts church in action!
Approximately every four to six weeks, there is a Breakthrough weekend. This weekend is a great opportunity to separate yourself to seek the Lord and learn more about your identity in Christ, get a greater understanding of what He did for us, and how we can walk in the freedom He has given us. It is a weekend of fellowship, worship, and teaching.
Upcoming Breakthrough dates are:
Sept 10 - 12, 2010
Nov 19-21, 2010

Most of our outreach ministry is done in the context of our Small Groups and Sweat, our youth group. However, at our East campus, we have many opportunities for involvement.
GO is a ministry of First Assembly that’s focus is on reaching out to the city of Gainesville to show the love of Jesus. This is accomplished by working with other churches to pray for and serve our community.
Making a first impression! Greeters welcome newcomers as they arrive in the church lobby, helping with directions around the church, and guidance towards different ministries and departments. After the service, greeters make contact with the newcomers as they leave, receive feedback, while engaging the visitors in conversation…which leads to building relationships! Small responsibilities include handing out bulletins, collecting visitor cards, etc.
Ushers work in conjunction with greeters. They are responsible for directing the crowd and seating people as they walk into the sanctuary. During the service, ushers collect offering, count attendance, and maintain crowd control. After the service, ushers open all doors to allow for easy flow out of the sanctuary.
Parking attendants will be in charge of maintaining the crowd control outside of the building in the parking lots. They will direct the flow of traffic, and guide cars to available parking spots.
